Hi, on the mk3, the temp sensor is on the back of the fuel pump.. I assume it's the same on the MK4. So, when you replaced the fuel pump you introduced a new temp sensor. If you've still got the old one, can you swap em over?

Well, the sensor seems to serve a purpose. Without it the climate control seems to have difficulties in maintaining the desired temperature inside the cabin. Yesterday evening, although the external temperature was in the teens, and I had set the climate control to 22 degrees, it kept blowing cold air, and quite strongly at that.
77 - 80 with no thermostat sounds wrong. These engines run cool and shouldn't. really move off the cold zone with no thermostat. I think you have another issue. The thermostat you have should start to open at. 88 degrees C and be fully open at 102 degrees C.
This will give you a “clean slate” in which to test the new EVAP temperature sensor. Step 2: Start the vehicle. Let it warm up to operating temperature. Step 3: Check the dashboard to verify that the check engine light does not come on. If it does, you should shut the vehicle off and complete a diagnostic scan.
Your vehicle’s powertrain control module (PCM) will log this code when it detects that the air temperature reading in sensor #2 is unusually high when the engine temperature is low. Common causes of the P0097 code are a failed IAT sensor #2, unreasonably high intake air temperatures, and circuit issues.
Labor: 1.0. To diagnose the P0096 Ford code, it typically requires 1.0 hour of labor. The specific diagnosis time and labor rates at auto repair shops can differ based on factors such as the location, make and model of the vehicle, and even the engine type. It is common for most auto repair shops to charge between $75 and $150 per hour.

Unplug the temperature gauge wire at the sending unit, most likely located on the engine,Ground the temperature gauge wire to the engine using a extra piece of wire (if its not long enough), then get somebody to Turn the ignition on but don’t start the engine, then watch the temperature gauge, If the gauge now reads
